Bursary to attend Under the Mediterranean II
The Foundation is offering twelve bursaries at €1000 each to attend the Under the Mediterranean II conference in Malta
In October 2017 the ‘Under the Mediterranean’ conference was held in Nicosia, on the centenary of Honor Frost’s birth in Cyprus. Over 100 speakers discussed a number of topics ranging from ship construction, harbours and maritime cultural landscapes to maritime connectivity in the ancient world. The ‘Under the Mediterranean II’ conference to be held in Malta in April 2022 is a continued reflection of this mission as well as Honor Frost’s connection to the island.
The bursary is to cover the cost of flights, visas, accommodation and subsistence, the conference registration fee will be waived for succesful applicants.
The Foundation is offering twelve bursaries at €1000 each to attend the conference, applicant’s must;
- Be either from the HFF region (Cyprus, Egypt, Lebanon or Syria) or an early career researcher working in the HFF region.
- Be planning to submit a paper or poster at the conference, the deadline for abstracts is the 31st October.
- Be prepared to help promote the conference via social media.
- Submit a full report on the event if successful, details of this will provided with the award email.
